Let’s make dreaming BIG normal

Recently I was having a conversation and I caught myself censoring my dreams, my aspirations, and my ideas of the future. It was subtle. I don’t know the exact words anymore but It must have been something like „I know I am not naive, in reality things are not as amazing as I am imagining it right now.“ „ I know I am romanticizing“. I caught myself making my dreams a bit smaller a bit more palatable because I don’t want others to perceive me as arrogant, delusional or simply a bit too keen, too eager. I also identified a certain fear to jinx the realization of my dreams by speaking about them whole heartedly. What if I don’t achieve it? I would lose my face. So turning the volume down has also been a protection mechanism. I wanted to protect my heart from heartbreak and my ego from taking a knock in case I would not be able to realize my dreams. As if not showing my self and my deepest desires fully could save me from a potential heartbreak or failure. I think we can be very creative and cute when it comes to protecting ourselves.

Why am I sharing this with you today?

Unfortunately in our society we are not encouraging each other to be bold about our dreams and desires. Talking about it may still be acceptable but actually going for it and achieving it is so triggering and confronting for most people. It makes people subconsciously or consciously think about their own hoped and dreams and whether or not they could realize them at some point. Most peoples excuses are bigger than their courage to dare committing to their dreams and making them happen no matter what.

You are not most people. The fact that you read this Newsletter is proof enough that you are different!

I may not change society as a whole but I know that I am an incredibly powerful woman and that my influence in this world may be bigger than I am able to grasp right now. It is my sincere desire to inspire us dream fucking big again. First we have to stop censoring ourselves in the first place. Have you ever caught yourself daydreaming or praying or writing a wishlist and be like „Ok let’s get that off the list again, that’s a little bit too much to ask.“ Stop it. I’m not saying that you should go and spend all of your savings on that Chanel Handbag right now, but at least allow yourself to desire whatever it is that you really really want and to write it down and enjoy the excitement of having dreams and a vision. Also don’t just stop there. You can have an unlimited amount of desires. The key is to not feel negative about the „not having yet“ but to focus on that vision of you having whatever it is that you are desiring.

My vision is to be around people who are bold, courageous and full of crazy desires. I don’t have to share the same dreams but honestly there is nothing more inspiring than someone who fucking knows what they want and just goes for it no matter what. No matter how far you are in your journey, no matter how many d-tours you have to take, no matter how many lessons you have to learn, even if I don’t fully understand your vision if you stay aligned and committed to your true north I am on your team. Just know that I am here, in your corner cheering you on.

Much Love,

Marleen
